Dinosaur Discovery Day: Raptor Day!

What:	Dinosaur Discovery Day: Raptor Day Saturday September 6th, 2008 - 10:00-2:30 Dinosaur Ridge Visitor Center The Friends of Dinosaur Ridge with the Morrison Natural History Museum, Jefferson County Public Libraries, the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory and the Lookout Mountain Nature Center bring you Raptor Day! The event will be located at the Dinosaur Ridge Visitor Center as well as the Morrison Museum. You can learn about the connection between birds and dinosaurs at the Feathered Family Tree Station and even see some mounted raptors at the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory Station, both located at the Visitor Center. At the Morrison Museum you can see skeletons of a Velociraptor and an ostrich, as well as a live monitor lizard. At the Visitor Center, the Knotts Kids Program from Jeffco Public Library will unveil "Possibilities Through Reading", a display of library books (especially for young scientists), and "Dinosaur Story Time" to be presented periodically. Also at the Visitor Center, "Hands-on-Dinos"; several fun activities for kids including the Stegosaurus Branding, Edmontosaurus Bone Dig, Grallator Track lab ($1), Coloring Studio, and the Cretaceous Crossroads Tracksite. The Stegosaurus Snack Shack will be giving Dinosaur Puppet Shows throught the day for ages 2-6.
