The Northglenn Recreation Center will be closed for yearly maintenance and cleaning beginning Monday, Aug. 24, through Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009. During this time, the senior center and D.L. Parsons Theatre will also be closed as recreation staff devote their time and energies to a week of intense facility cleaning, painting and minor repair work.
Additionally, the indoor swimming pool at the recreation center, 11801 Community Center Drive, will be closed from Wednesday, Aug. 19, through Sunday, Aug. 30, for work to become compliant with the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act. The pool will re-open on Monday, Aug. 31, for regular hours of operation. Please visit the city's outdoor pool located at 550 Garland Drive for special pool hours during this closure.
Visitors are encouraged to make note of the dates of closure and come visit after the clean up is complete and the building reopens for normal business on Monday, August 31.
In the meantime, patrons wishing to register for recreational programs are able to do so as we will accept walk-in registrations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, through Thursday, Aug. 27. You can also register online at the city's
