Celebrating 25 years of making wings

It all started 25 years ago when in 1981
Tony Mineo
, a native New Yorker, moved to Northglenn with his family and opened his first restaurant in the city. The family found in Northglenn everything to their liking except for one thing --no "Buffalo-Style" chicken wings. The first restaurant Tony opened was called Woody's Wings.
Ironically, instead of selling wings, Tony sold pizzas and gave away chicken wings to his customers. Knowing that Colorado residents would come to love wings every bit as much as they did, they decided to stop selling pizzas and dedicate the restaurant exclusively to serving wings. Despite some doubt that a single item restaurant could make it, the Northglenn restaurant was a big hit, and Colorado residents loved it.
The restaurant was purchased by
Karl Kigerl
and
Joe Martin
in 1992. There are currently four stores in the Denver Metro area and it is the Northglenn store that is now serving over 7,000 pounds of wings each week.
"We are very proud and excited to celebrate 25 years in the Northglenn community, "says Kigerl, President of Wingman Operating Company, Inc. "We are very happy to be part of the Northglenn family and we are not going anywhere. We have third generation families that come to our restaurant and enjoy our wings. People tell us their stories about when Wingman first opened."
Wingman has won many local, regional and National awards. In 2002 and 2003 Wingman won the title of National Champion at The National Buffalo Wing Festival in Buffalo, N.Y., and in 2005 Wingman took second place.
Also, celebrities such as

Wingman is located at 1412 W. 104th Ave. Suite 116in Northglenn.
