Local elections matter

It is the local elections that matter most and have immediate impact on the day-to-day lives of citizens. People who serve as Board members, Councilmen, directors do the grunt work that creates, shapes and maintains the character of the City.

The streets, the potholes, the garbage pick-up, stray animals, economic development of businesses, industry growth, planning, police, and fire and daily items of concern for our City Council. These folks supposedly, analyze, study, review, and consider what is best for Us? As a Community? Now and in the future?

What is possible? What is practical?

What makes sense? What is safe?

What is responsible? What is lasting?

What is fleeting? What is most efficient?

And how to pay for it?

Our elected officials aren't listening to the citizens that voted them into office. People want to be heard. We believe in the Constitution. This is "grass-roots." Politicians, this is an election year, you had better listen to us.

The Northglenn city management has seen too many leaders and too many visions in a short window. We see people come and go like contestants on a game show. If Northglenn is ever to overcome the litany of serious problems it faces, the turnstiles at the doors of various offices have to stop spinning. Northglenn needs dedicated, competent leaders and it needs them to stay and build something. Real progress takes time. The amount of turnover hasn’t been good for Northglenn. It has been an almost constant state of transition for years with SOME barely getting a strong feel for the job before departing. At best, their ability to provide strong day-to-day leadership and management can be described as “limited.”
