"Will Sing for Food"
Contributed by: Mike Martinez on 4/24/2007

" Will Sing for Food"-- That's the title of the Northland Chorale's latest show. It will be presented at the D.L. Parson's Theatre in the Northglenn Rec Center on Sun. May 13 @ 2:30 p.m., Sat. May 12, Fri. May 18, and Sat. May 19 @ 7:30 p.m. An entire show about food (Yum) - including memorable food commercials! Some songs are familiar and others will be a surprise! Do you remember Lucy's "Vitameatavegamin" skit? Yup! That's in the show, as well as "Chiquita Banana" and many others. In any case, they are sure to bring a smile or a chuckle. Quoting one of the Chorale members, "This is one of the silliest shows we've done!", but it all makes for great entertainment! Comedian Gary Carnes will be back for this show handing out cooking tips and dispensing his wit as "Julia Childs"!?!

Northland Chorale members will be donating food to the area food banks. Please helpthem "Share the Wealth" by bringing a non-perishable food item when you come to see this fun show. It will be greatly appreciated.

The Northland Chorale has been delighting North area audiences for 37 years with their original shows -- each one so unique. Recently one of the founding members, Chuck Hlinka, passed away. He had performed with the Chorale for 35 years. He is greatly missed but will always be remembered by members and audiences alike. Jim Blumer, the last founding member still performing, is dutifully bolstering up the Baritone/Bass section.

Due to conflicting schedules, the Chorale's ranks are a little slim right now. This would be a great time to become a member of this family oriented community of singers and performers. This is a great group to be a part of if you love to sing, laugh, perform, give a little something back to your community. It's fun and rewarding. Any interested singers from teens to 80's - especially men - please call for a simple vocal test with the music director, Robert Bartalot.

The show only runs for two week-ends so plan now and reserve your tickets early. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.

For additional information about the show, tickets, or joining the Chorale for their next show, call us at 303-452-8751, e-mail northlandchorale@comcast.net or visit http://www.northlandchorale.org
