O'Meara Ford - Detroit loss...Colorado gain!
Contributed by: Roger Baggett on 11/15/2006

In 1913, Alfred O'Meara Sr. traded Detroit's cold and damp for the sunny skies of Colorado. What Detroit lost was Colorado's gain! O'Meara Motors was established and soon became one of Colorado's most enterprising and fastest growing automobile dealerships.

Through two world wars, a depression and many recessions, Al O'Meara ,Jr. identified "adversity" as a major contributing factor to the longevity of the dealership. He also pinpoints the fact that his son, Brian, third generation O'Meara, doesn't run the business as he did. And he didn't run the business as his father did.

Each generation of O'Meara's has pronounced themselves "survivors" in an ever-changing automotive climate. Each generation adapting to market conditions and consumer demands has been the mainstay of our heritage and longevity.

Today, O'Meara Ford Center celebrates its 93rd Year. "The challenges in the market place are no less daunting than those faced by my dad and grandfather", says Brian O'Meara, president and general manager. "The competition compels us to excel with both our product and services and thus we recently completed a 5 year, 15 million dollar expansion. We look forward to the future while rooted to our past and that's a good thing," because people have come to know and trust the name behind the dealership.
