Description: Greg Gedney, member of the Denver Chapter of the Colorado Archaeology Society will present recent findings about lithic analyses of the Swallow Site. For over 25 years the Swallow Site, located in Jefferson County, CO, has intrigued archaeologists with a complex web of mixed occupational horizons. Recent lithic analysis of the site's archaeological assemblage is casting new light on the shifts that have occurred within the site's 8000-year history. This report will highlight the most recent findings of the DC-CAS's efforts at deciphering the history of one of the Front Range's most significant archaeological sites.
