Vincent Louis Heid accomplished what fewer than 2% of the national total of Boy
Scouts do. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout on 12/19/2007.
His experiences in scouting began when he was 7 years old and have continued uninterrupted through this his 18th year. The rank of Eagle, among other requirements, is obtained by earning 21 merit badges. Vincent entered 34 on his application for Eagle Scout.
Each young man has to plan, coordinate and implement a service project that enhances the life in their community. Vincent began planning his project in January of 2007, worked with numerous City of Northglenn offices and personnel, city businesses including Lowe's to complete the plan that he envisioned would help his city to be a better place to live.
Northwest Open Spaces now has some 550 linear feet of new split rail fence around the entire southwest parking lot as well as a line on the southwest portion of the east parking lot . Vincent coordinated 34 volunteers who set the fence straight as an arrow in about 5 hours. The fence fits aesthetically with the views of our mountains to the west.
To honor and recognize his newly attained rank, family, friends and members of his Boy Scout Troop 524 will gather to celebrate a special Court of Honor on Friday, March 14 2008.
It is with pride that we, his parents, notify the public of our son's accomplishment.

You must be very proud of your son. Northglenn is a better place because of him.
