On February 1, 2008, North Metro Fire Rescue will promote three outstanding employees to the rank of Engineer--Fire fighter/Paramedic Rob Morris, Fire fighter Rich Schermerhorn and Fire fighter Don Woodmansee.
Fire fighter/Paramedic Rob Morris was hired by North Metro Fire Rescue in October of 2001. Since the start of his employment seven years ago, Rob has worked as a firefighter and a paramedic, but also dedicated his time to specialize and serve as a Wildland, Technical Rescue and Hazardous Materials team member.
Fire fighter Rich Schermerhorn began his seven-year career with the District in October of 2001. While working his way through the three levels of fire fighter for the District, Rich also served on the HazMat, Honor Guard, and Wildland Teams.
In addition Rich has taken on various special assignments for the Fire District including serving on the Customer Service Committee and fulfilling the role of Car Seat Technician and "field trainer" for the department's reporting software program.
Fire fighter Don Woodmansee also began his seven-year career with the District in October of 2001. Working his way through the three levels of Firefighter Don served on the Wildland Team.
In addition to his Fire District responsibilities, Don has also concurrently served in the Army National Guard as a Military Police Officer. He served one tour in Iraq and previously served on a peacekeeping mission for 270 days throughout Europe and former Yugoslavia. Prior to joining the National Guard, Don served in the US Marine Corp.
