Be a part of the first Ride to Empower and join the Rocky Mountain Team! Riders are now being recruited to participate in this first-time event.

You can enjoy the California wine country and help raise funds for breast cancer through this special event taking place during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Solvang, California, October 23-26. Funds raised will benefit the Breast Cancer Network of Strength (formerly known as Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization) Rocky Mountain Affiliate. The ride follows the same route used by Lance Armstrong while training for the Tour de France.

Members of the Rocky Mountain Team will receive coaching by USA Cycling-certified coaches Laura LeBlanc and Julie Stevens, who will instruct both interested and avid cyclists in an expert training program. A training plan and scheduled Team rides will be held throughout the summer.

Once registered, riders are asked to raise a minimum of $4,000 for breast cancer; however, you won't be doing it alone. Network of Strength will provide riders with fundraising tips and support to help riders meet their goals as well as a personal web site page to collect donations.

In exchange for successfully raising $4,000 or more, each rider will receive:
• Roundtrip airfare from within the contiguous U.S. to Solvang, California
• Ground transportation from airport to the hotel
• Hotel accommodations for three nights and all meals during the stay
• Technical support and round-trip bike transportation
• Personal web site fundraising page
• Access to expert cycling training program
• Group training rides and team gatherings
• Fundraising support
• Ride to Empower jersey and team T-shirt

The funds raised through the Ride to Empower will help Network of Strength continue its mission of ensuring that no one faces breast cancer alone. By joining the Rocky Mountain Team, you will aid in providing free-of-charge services to those touched by breast cancer. Be here today for the people who can't wait for tomorrow's cure.
