Blotter: Woman reports out-of-state fraud

WOMAN REPORTS FRAUD

A woman on the 9800 block of Bruce Lane reported a forgery case at 11:15 a.m. June 18. The woman told police that she had found a job on the internet where she could work from home. The man on the other end of the line told the woman that she would receive traveler's checks from him and was told to cash them at her bank and keep eight percent for herself as compensation. When she received the money orders, she believed that they were forged and a scam. She contacted police about it, who took the money orders into evidence and was told to have no further contact with them.

MAN ARRESTED GOING 27 OVER

A 25-year-old Erie man was arrested at 1:55 a.m. June 18 on suspicion of driving under the influence. An officer saw the man driving 62 mph in a 35-mph zone near the intersection of 104 th Avenue and Pecos Street. The man failed roadside maneuvers and told officers that he had not been drinking. He was arrested and released with a summons.

WOMAN SEES INDECENT EXPOSURE

A woman called police at 4:06 p.m. June 19 after allegedly witnessing a man looking down at the pool area in her apartment complex on the 12200 block of Claude Court and masturbating. The woman told police that when she saw him, she yelled at him and he ran off. Police were unable to find the man, but informed residents of the complex of what happened.

MAN HAS TRUCK BROKEN INTO

Officers were called to the 10700 block of Huron Street at 9 a.m. June 20 in response to a criminal mischief. A witness at the scene told police that front passenger window of his car was broken out. He told police that he didn't believe he had any enemies that might want to do him or his car harm, but suspected that it was done to his car due to its proximity to the parking lot.
