Police blotter: Pizza delivery driver assaulted

Incidents reported by Northglenn Police Department

PIZZA DELIVERY DRIVER ASSAULTED
Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Malley Drive on a robbery report at 10:28 p.m. Aug. 14. En route to the scene, dispatch told officers that a pizza delivery driver had allegedly been assaulted by two males who stole cash and pizza from him. Police were later able to locate the two suspects, a 20-year-old Northglenn man and a juvenile. Both suspects admitted to the incident and were transported to the Northglenn Police Department for aggravated robbery.

SCHOOL PLAYGROUND SET ON FIRE
At 3:37 a.m. Aug. 14, police were dispatched to Wyco Elementary School, 11511 Wyco Drive, on a report of a fire. Upon arrival, police saw playground equipment near the west side of the school on fire. Police spoke with a man who called it in who stated he saw the fire from his window as he was getting ready for work, but didn't see anyone near the area at the time. North Metro Fire also responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. Police had no leads or suspects at the time of the report.

LAPTOP STOLEN FROM HOME
Police responded to the 10600 block of Loren Lane at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14 on a report of burglary. Upon arrival, police spoke with a 26-year-old Northglenn man who said some time between noon Aug. 10 and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14, someone had entered his home and taken his laptop and two memory cards. There were no signs of forced entry and the man said his rear door may have been unlocked sometime that week. Estimated value of the stolen items was $2,560.

MAN DOWNS 12-PACK BEFORE DRIVING
At 3:06 a.m. Aug. 13, police went to the North Metro Fire Station, 10550 Huron St., on a report of a possible DUI driver who had been involved in an accident. Police spoke with the driver, a 21-year-old Northglenn man, who admitted consuming a 12-pack prior to driving and couldn't recall how his vehicle was damaged. After failing a voluntary sobriety test, he was transported to the Northglenn Police Department.

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, GUN FOUND IN HOME
At 6:55 p.m. Aug. 12, police responded to the 11000 block of Washington Street on a report of a possible drug violation. Upon arrival, police met with two parole officers who stated they were doing a routine visit with a 29-year-old Northglenn woman and found suspected drug paraphernalia, 8.12 grams of a pink crystal substance and a black handgun in her apartment. The woman was transported to the Adams County Detention Facility for possession of drug paraphernalia and weapons.
