Incidents reported by the Northglenn Police
SPORTS CARDS PILFERED
Police responded to Jerry's Sports Card, 921 103rd Ave., on a shoplift report at 7 p.m. Sept. 3. Upon arrival, police spoke with one of the store owners who said at 6:30 p.m., two white males came into the store with one of them asking to see some cards in a display case. When the owner went to unlock the display case, the other male was seen on camera trying to conceal some other cards in his pants, police said. They later left the store in what the owner described as a white Range Rover with possible out-of-state license plates. The estimated loss was $45.
MAN FOUND TRESPASSING AT SCHOOL
Police were dispatched to Northglenn High School, 601 W. 100th Place, on a trespassing report Sept. 4. At 1:55 p.m., police spoke with a school security officer who said a man was reportedly unlawfully walking around the school halls. The man told police he was looking for his cousin to give him a ride home and admitted he knew he wasn't supposed to be inside the school without permission. Police issued the man a summons for trespassing.
WOMAN GETS A CASE OF ROAD RAGE
At 3:59 p.m. Sept. 4, police responded to the area of Grant Drive and Emery Road on an assault report. Upon arrival, police spoke with a female driver who said a woman she knew had forced her off the road and slapped her in the face. The woman then followed her when she tried to drive away from the scene, police said. Police contacted the woman, a 20-year-old Northglenn resident, at her home and she admitted to following the woman and pulling in front of her with her car. She was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.
MEN GET INTO BLOODY FIGHT
At 4:30 p.m. Sept. 6, police responded to the 11000 block of Washington Street on a disturbance report. Upon arrival, police reported seeing blood on the stairs and carpet leading up to an apartment. Inside, police found a woman and two men, both of whom were covered in blood and intoxicated. During interviews, police were told that one of the men, a 21-year-old Northglenn resident, was "talking (expletive)" to the other man's sister. A fight ensued and the 21-year-old later went outside and punched the glass encasement of a fire extinguisher, cutting his hand. The men kept fighting until police showed up, according to reports. Police issued summonses for disorderly conduct to both men and the 21-year-old was transported to North Suburban Medical Center for treatment.
MOTORCYCLIST CAUGHT DRUNK
Police were dispatched to the intersection of Garland Drive and Washington Street on an accident report at 5:18 p.m. Sept. 6. Upon arrival, police spoke with staff from Northglenn Ambulance who were treating a woman who had lost control of her motorcycle and hit the street median. Police said the woman sustained minor head injuries from the accident. Ambulance staff said while they were treating her, they noticed she had a strong odor of alcohol and slurred speech. Police later found the woman had a revoked driver's license and issued her a summons for suspicion of DUI and released her to ambulance personnel for treatment.
MAN'S CAR, MONEY STOLEN
At 5:30 a.m. Sept. 7, police responded to the 300 block of Malley Drive on a motor vehicle theft report. Upon arrival, police spoke with a 22-year-old man who said his vehicle and $350 were stolen. The man said earlier he had picked up a woman and her cousin and returned home at 3:30 a.m. When he got up for work at 5:15 a.m., he noticed the money missing from his wallet and his car keys were gone. The man couldn't provide any more information about the woman, only that she had stayed overnight at his apartment before. The estimated cost of the vehicle was $6,000.
CHEATING HUSBAND STRIKES WIFE
Police were dispatched to the 100 block of East 108th Avenue on a domestic violence report at 6:40 p.m. Sept. 7. Upon arrival, police spoke with a 57-year-old Northglenn woman who said she and her husband had fought about a woman he was seeing. The man reportedly struck the woman's face and held her down on the ground. Police noted swelling under the woman's right eye. When police questioned the husband, he denied hitting her, but admitted to holding her down on the ground to protect himself. He was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and domestic violence and transported to the Northglenn Police Department for booking.
WOMAN'S TRAILER TAGGED
Police were dispatched to the 11000 block of Pinyon Drive on a report of graffiti at 10:37 a.m. Sept. 8. There, police spoke with a 53-year-old Northglenn woman who said someone had written graffiti on her trailer. Police noted writing on the driver's side of the trailer, which was done with black spray paint. The woman said the incident may have occurred Sept. 6 when the trailer was at Webster Lake Park. The estimated cost of damage was $250.
