MAN SUSPECTED OF SHOPLIFTING
Northglenn police were sent to a 7-Eleven, 11421 Washington St., on a report of shoplifting at 4:48 p.m. May 13. The clerk told the officer he saw an 81-year-old man place a bottle of Dayquil in his coat. The man paid for a newspaper and the clerk asked him to pay for the medicine. The man said he did not know what the clerk was talking about. Police located the man and issued him a summons for shoplifting.
STEPSON ASSAULTS FATHER
Northglenn police were sent to a home on the 10000 block of Huron Street at 5:17 p.m. May 13 on a report of an assault. The officer spoke to a 31-year-old man who said he had gotten into an argument with his stepson over some clothes. The man told his stepson he was going to call his probation officer and the stepson hit the man in the head and left. The man said he did not want to pursue charges against the stepson. The case is closed.
PURSE STOLEN
Northglenn police responded to a report of a theft at 6:40 p.m. May 13 at Boondocks, 11425 Community Center Drive. A 31-year-old woman told officers she had left her purse on the 18th hole of the miniature golf course. When she went to her car, she realized her purse was missing. The woman told police $4,200 in cash and her bank card were in the purse. The case remained under investigation at the time of the report.
LAWN ORNAMENT STOLEN
Northglenn police were sent to the 1200 block of Kennedy Drive at 5:10 p.m. May 16 on a report of a stolen lawn ornament. A 33-year-old man told the officer his mother, who had since passed away, gave the ornament to him. Police had no suspects at the time of the report.
