North Metro deploys three to assist California
Contributed by: North Metro Fire Rescue on 6/26/2008

Three North Metro Fire Rescue personnel and a Brush Attack truck left Wednesday, June 25 to assist with wild land fire fighting efforts in California. These full-time wild land fire, structural fire and emergency medical trained personnel will be working for an unknown time frame with a maximum initial commitment of two weeks.

North Metro responded to the request from the Fort Collins Interagency Wildfire Dispatch Center. The team of three firefighters will report into the area command staging center located near the city of Monterey, California. The crew will be staged at this location and be dispatched out to one of the 30 active fires across the state. The National Interagency Fire Center is indicating that there is currently over 189,000 acres burning across the state. Most of the fires are in northern California.

If crews are able to get their first assigned fire under control, the North Metro fire personnel may be repositioned another wild land fire location throughout California.

North Metro Fire Rescue is dedicated to your quality care.
