At 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26, North Metro Fire Rescue District presented the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Breast Cancer Network of Strength with a check for $2,285. The funds were raised through a pink t-shirt sale to the community during the months of September and October.
The fundraiser concluded just in time for the "Cares to Wear Pink" campaign - a national, first-responder public awareness campaign to show support to all those battling cancer. North Metro Fire Rescue District is one of 12 fire departments across the Metro area wearing pink on October 25, 26, & 27. In addition, North Metro fire fighters will be handing out free Breast Care Diaries to all citizens they meet over the three day period.
