Northglenn -- On Wednesday, January 9, 2008, City Manager A.J. Krieger officially announced that he filled an executive level vacancy, naming David Allen the Director of Public Works & Utilities.
Mr. Allen brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position. "It is exciting to have an employee with strong qualifications and experience step to the plate to fill this vacancy and serve the citizens of Northglenn. David is a talented and highly respected professional who has demonstrated commitment, collaboration, and fiscal responsibility. Our residents are fortunate to have individuals like David who devote themselves to public service," said City Manager A.J. Krieger.
Mr. Allen began his employment with the City in 2006 when he was selected to serve as the director of utilities. Recently, he managed the completion of a long-term water supply plan for Northglenn while working with the Department of Public Works to become familiar with their operational and maintenance facilities.
He is a graduate of Colorado State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and the University of Southern California where he earned a master's degree in civil engineering/water resources. He has over 17 years of work experience as a professional civil engineer including employment with the cities of Los Angeles and Anaheim and consulting experience with a civil engineering firm. A past accomplishment for Mr. Allen was the development of a 10-year, $162 million capital improvement program for Anaheim's water utility department.
"I appreciate the confidence that the city manager has in my abilities to take on these additional responsibilities associated with this appointment. I look forward to working with staff in keeping infrastructure maintenance and outstanding service levels our highest priorities," said David Allen.
David Allen will officially begin his new position on January 19, 2008.
