Five candidates have filed paperwork to fill three open seats on the North Metro Fire Rescue Board of Directors in the May election. Although North Metro protects and responds to two municipalities, all District Directors serve at-large and the terms last for four years. The candidates who turned in self-nomination forms by the deadline are (with area of residence):

"This is large field of candidates for the board election," says Public Information Officer Wendy Forbes. "It should be an exciting race at an exciting time for us since the Fire District continues to make significant infrastructure changes through fulfilling the bond issue that passed in the May 2006 election."
If citizens are not registered to vote, April 7th is the last day to register to vote for any of the many special district elections which are happening on May 6. In addition,
Absentee ballots are available and applications can be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at North Metro Fire Rescue District's Headquarters building, 10550 Huron Street, in Northglenn or at North Metro Fire Prevention Division, 13515 Lowell Boulevard, in Broomfield by the close of business on
May 2, 2008. If requesting an absentee ballot by mail, applications must be received at the Headquarters location in Northglenn by the close of business on
April 25, 2008.
Absentee ballot voters are advised, to cast your vote your ballots must be received at the North Metro Fire Rescue District Headquarters building, 10550 Huron Street in Northglenn by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, May 6.
