Northglenn Named Playful City USA
The City of Northglenn was named the first Playful City USA in the state of Colorado and one of 67 nationally.
Playful City USA is a national recognition program honoring municipalities across the country that are committed to taking action to promote play.
Northglenn will receive highway signs, awards and special incentive opportunities, be included in a national media campaign and have access to resources including playground builds, trainings and grant opportunities.
Residents may also rate the parks in Northglenn. Go to www.kaboom.com and register. Click on the blue "Playspace Finder" button on the middle of the page, and then click on the orange "Find or Grade" Button. Type "Northglenn" in the city box, and follow the instructions to rate a play area in the city.
Hearing to be Held on Status of Huron Center
A public hearing will be held as part of the Oct. 9 city council meeting to discuss whether the Huron Center, at Huron Street and 104th Avenue, is a blighted area and should be added to the Northglenn Urban Renewal Authority. For more information, go to
www.northglenn.org/councilagenda
