North Metro Fire Rescue wants you to swing by North Metro Fire Station 62 at 10550
Huron Street in Northglenn this Aug. 29 to give a pint of blood for the community.
The North Metro Blood Drive will run from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Appointments to donate are now being taken. One small donation of your blood can save up to three different patients, yet only 4 percentof Colorado's population donates blood.
"The need for blood is constant," said
Wendy Krajewski
, public information officer for North Metro Fire Rescue. "And, donating blood is one of the easiest ways to volunteer. All blood types are needed and donating blood is a very safe process."
North Metro Fire Rescue hopes you will join Fire District employees in giving a pint of blood on Aug 29. Donors must be 18 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health with no history of hepatitis or HIV/AIDS. The donation interval after a whole blood donation is 56 days.
If you would like to schedule an appointment to donate, please call
Paulette Wertz
at 303-452-9910.
North Metro Fire Rescue is dedicated to your quality care. North Metro Fire Rescue provides fire protection, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response and rescue services to their community. Formed in 1945, the district now covers 115 square miles with a population of approximately 90,000 people including the city and county of Broomfield, the city of Northglenn and unincorporated areas of Boulder, Adams and Jefferson Counties.
