There are reasons why local municipal elections attract relatively low interest, ranging from apathy to a lack of understanding about the power that City Council has over day-to-day operations of Northglenn and the quality of life within the city.
As a fact, City Council makes more decisions each year that have a direct impact on Northglenn citizens than the U.S. Congress. Unfortunately, few people will take the time to vote.
So, between now and November 3, do a little research in your Ward and learn a little about the candidates. We take our right to vote for granted and there is no excuse for failing to cast a ballot.
The point is . . . That the more people who show up, the more reflective of the entire community the results will be.
