Traffic Accidents & Whiplash
Contributed by: DR. SEAN REIF D.C. on 4/20/2008

Traffic on our streets seems to be getting more congested and dangerous. Our cities make enormous efforts to keep the highways in good repair, but good roads handle EVEN MORE automobiles. This means an increase in the number of auto accidents.

The rear end collision is most frequent and SOMETIMES involves several cars at the same time. Often such collisions are considered minor and OFTEN the parties drive off after the accident, giving little thought to what we call "WHIPLASH" injuries. What might seem minor at the time could in reality be a serious whiplash injury and should be checked by a specialist.

Chiropractors are experts in the field and by examination and X-RAY can tell whether or not there is an injury that has caused a misalignment of a vertebrae putting pressure on a nerve, however SLIGHT. An injury that is hardly felt at the time of the accident could bring about health problems a later date. If this condition is left unattended, it can cause years of tormenting PAIN and CRIPPLING dis-eases. The spinal cord and nerve roots are frequently injured without the person's knowledge of any injury. Perhaps months later PAIN symptoms develop that is seldom connected to the forgotten whiplash that occurred when the autos "BUMPED BUMPERS."

Any time you are involved in an accident, it is WISE to make an APPOINTMENT for a spinal examination and analysis. In this way, you will receive the spinal correction the analysis indicated you need and receive on a timely basis.
