There is strength in numbers!!
Contributed by: Nancy Pfaff on 4/28/2008

For the resident's that are not updated with Northglenn's Software Selection, and who & why some council member's are looking to bring there buddy, Innoprise Into Northglenn, can check by reading the following links:

Northglenn Council intervenes in software purchase

Response to Councilmember Wieneke's Blog

Response to Northglenn's Software purchase

Yet another week has gone by. It seems that when ever the truth is being discussed or brought to the forefront on these pages our friends the now infamous "Northglennoprise 4" vanish. For people who had so much to say when they started these blog posts it appears there is now a bad case of "cat's got your tongue" in Northglenn. Meow.

As I'm sure many of you who read this can see the Northglenn software process is a "Let's fire the City Manager" all over again. WE THE PEOPLE of Northglenn are being held hostage by the very council members we mistakenly put into office. I'm sure that most of us the greater sensibly-thinking population of Northglenn have already thought of or have even uttered the word "recall" as our fuses are getting shorter and shorter. Why should we have to put up with the destructive political antics of a few rogue "community leaders" such as these? Standing back and looking at Northglenn from a distance you would think we are a quasi-communist community with Supreme Leaders who are above the law. (Sounds like a good story for FOX or CNN)

Since this blogging began several week's ago several people have come up to me and have asked me"Nancy? Why don't YOU run for council because I would vote for you? This is very flattering of course and I wouldn't rule this out completely but at this point I think we need a housekeeper or rather a janitorial service to do some very necessary full-scale council-cleaning first. The City of Northglenn will never be able to get the things done that it needs to get done with the current pack of nay sayers. This council (not all of them - but some of them) will prevent the city from becoming the leader it could become and should become rather than what we are: a city of antiquity.

According to my sources this current episode of "Let's fire the City Manager" is supposed to meet on or around the 8th of May to try force Innoprise into the City of Northglenn against staff's well-researched recommendation. I propose a rally - larger than the group who attended the "Let's fire the City Manager" meeting. I would like to see 300 (or more!) of Northglenn's finest residents join me in the Northglenn council chambers at City Hall (exact date and time to be determined and believe me - I will let you know!) to show these political bullies that they can't just do what they want - they have to do what WE THE PEOPLE want!! I will contact all of the local news media from television and newspapers and I am going to contact major media giants and invite them to this event because this "NorthglennopriseGate" is just as appalling as the cases they tend to cover every night.

It's time for us to stand up and be heard and to defend our rights as citizens of the City of Northglenn. Sure you might miss a little of American Idol or Dancing with the Stars but I guarantee you that this will be more exciting than both of them put together! Please consider joining me on/around May 8th 2008 at City Hall. There is still strength in numbers. If you have an American flag at home I encourage you to bring it to this event in a show of support. Additional 'nice-to-have' items would include:

-a megaphone.
-a boom-box with the song"We're not gonna take it" by the old band "Twisted Sister" on it.

Thank you.

Nancy

"We're Not Gonna Take It"

"OH WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT

NO, WE AIN'T GONNA TAKE IT

OH WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE"

Mr. Douglas, what no insomniac sociopath career advice for me today? Did you actually get a good night’s sleep so your demons aren’t chasing you today? I must say your posting pointing out that older programmers like me might discover finding another job difficult was an eye opener. I really appreciate you taking an interest in my career since as you say I don’t work for the City of Northglenn anymore and we all know Northglenn takes care of their employees. I was wondering, do the same principles for difficult job searches apply to CEOs that lie to and generally deceive their board of directors and share holders? That would be even more troubling.

One other thing Mr. Douglas, I have checked with my council members and found that I was correct in saying: it is up to the council to make the final decision on who will get this contract. Fortunately, it is not the staff's job to determine how my tax dollars will be spent. They simply submit their recommendations and our elected officials make the final cut. By the way, you are so adamant about Innoprise not getting this contract I can’t help but wonder if you are actually a member of the staff, or even the city manager, trying to influence the outcome which would make your using a pseudonym understandable since none of those people should be involved in the final decision—just wondering????

I have used google to check out the areas you suggested Mr. Douglas, but I am still only coming up with good things about Innoprise. Maybe someone else can come up with something, but I’m not finding all these bad reports you keep talking about. As I said earlier, I frankly don’t care who gets the contract as long as it is up to date and will not be a waste of my money, but for Nancy Pfaff to suggest that people should show up and disrupt the council meeting is too much.

Sorry Mr. Douglas, you can’t get away with pretending you are somehow so afraid of people, who have opinions which differ from yours, that you don’t have to man up and let us know who you are. I’ve told you who I am, and you can find me on the voter registration list. Until you man up and let us know who you are, you have no credibility. As to my statements, I haven’t made one that is improper or litigious, and the last time I checked, my doctor says I’m about the sanest person he has ever met. I do have freedom of speech much to your discomfort; I’m not an elected official or an officer of Northglenn, or someone who has a job you can threaten as you did Mr. Ponds—I’m just one of a number of pissed off voters who refuse to sit back and see our vote for this council be overturned. I have tried to use your links for Mr. Kolbe and a Mr. Robert Red without success. If I am unaware of these people or their posts I can hardly respond to them.

Michael Douglas: Unfortunately for you, most people who come in contact with me do not have to use a pseudonym. In fact your accusation that “Marcus Taft” is really Thomas Pond is outrageous. My name is “Marcus David Taft” but, unlike you, I’m not afraid to use it and attach it to anything I write. I am a registered voter and live in Ward I. In fact, Mr. Douglas the only one (in your own words) who is using “insanely litigious, egregious and reprehensible behavior” is you. How dare you threaten Mr. Ponds Job because he has the audacity to post his information and point out the fallacies’ in your argument? I have no real interest in who gets the software contract except to see that my tax dollars do not continue to be wasted by the city of Northglenn, and to continue with an antiquated system does not bode well for my money.

Boy you are the king of the half truth Mr. Douglas. Yes it is true that I have a Masters degree from DU in Technology Management and yes I did work as a HR software developer for the School of Mines. It is absolutely not true that I have ever worked for Mr. Harward or any of his companies or that I have ever accepted any sort of payment for my efforts on behalf of several Northglenn council members. It doesn’t matter to me if you believe it or not. My only concern here is that Northglenn chooses a software package that will provide the best long term benefit to the City. As I have said publicly, I have some serious concerns about the staff’s chosen vendor’s long term benefit to the City. Would the staff’s vendor software work? Of course it would. Would it provide the best long term benefit? I don’t believe so. By the way, my employer would only have a problem if I was doing something illegal and I don’t believe that is the case. So smear on Mr. Douglas.

Remember, a community should be willing and able to come together, agree to disagree, and live to fight another day, without the threat of retaliation. Attempting to pit neighbor against neighbor is the oldest trick in the book of dictatorship. Diminishing the value, credibility, and right of one’s superiors, skews the perception of who exactly is at fault. This allows the dictator to rise in power, making it look as though it was the will of the people. Oh, by the way.... Mr. Douglas, have we met?

Mr. Douglas, I am shocked. Having never met any of the participants, the players are clear. Frankly, bolstering the views of your other pseudonyms... obvious. Nonetheless, realizing the battle the Northglenninites face, I withdraw my request for the hand of Doctor Sean. The good people of this community need him and others like him to assist in revealing this destroyer of truth. Nothing should divide the people or set them against their leaders. Look, closely Northglenninites... you can figure this one out.

MR. DOUGLAS, Sir, I had no idea you too are an insomniac! I have found turning off the GOOGLE ALERT is a tremendous help. For those of you yet to experience the lengths to which one will go to control others, take note! You are learning at the feet of the master. No doubt Mr. Douglas wants to diminish points made by any citizen which apose his view of ANY matter. Burying the postings is only the beginning. Implied threats suggesting Mr. Pond is placing his job in jepardy is more likely the prefered method of operation. You dear friends had better prepare yourselves.

Thanks Dwight M. Excellent points. All of them. To answer your question: the losing bidder (Innoprise) made contact with Council *after* they lost. Please read on below. I apologize for the sheer volume of this information, but due to the 1000 character limit on responses, I am forced to post this content in successive posts.
