Letter to the Editor
Congratulations to CPAAAN and the Northglenn Community Foundation.
On Saturday Sept. 9, thefirst annual Northglenn Paint The Town 5K Run/Walk became an awesome event. It was a joint effort of both organizations that went flawlessly due to the dedication of everyone involved and the participants.
One individual that did such an outstanding, meticulous and astute job that without him the course would not have been certified by the USATFwas
Virgil Hall
.
Everyone that came up after the event said that it was a well laid out, securecourse withgreat food, great event T-shirts andwell organized and could not believe that this was the first year that this event had been run so thanks to everyone for a job well done.
We have so many sponsors to thank but
Sheila
and
Joe Vessels
of Atlanta Bread Company stood out so much because of their awesome help in furnishing a breakfast for all the participants and volunteers, purchasing 26 event shirts for all their associates, plus other help.
We also had the following individuals who provide us with guidance and help that without them the event would not have been so successful:
Steven Stokes
, event planner for the city of Northglenn; Officer
Rick Kellogg
, community resource officer for the Northglenn Police Department;
Melissa Collison
, recreation specialist for the city of Westminster and Holy Cow event;
Cliff Bruce
and
Bry
, timers for the event; Troop 524, which is sponsored by the Northglenn Elks; and
Dave Poppers
, the USATF/ARTC Course Certifier. Of course there were so many others but we are limited to space but we owe them all a real debt of gratitude.
We are looking forward to holding the second Northglenn Run/Walk in 2007.
