The new City Council has at least 2 years to do what they believe is necessary to enact change in Northglenn. Still, they should recognize their first 100 days as crucial to the process.
City Council members react with a mix of anticipation and cautious optimism when asked about their plans. Some just want to "feel it out" and "learn the process." Some strive for "transparency and integrity". Some try not to "do too much too soon." Trying not to "rush things" or "prove themselves to soon."
We are a community of open minds and independent thinkers. We want our leaders to share with the citizens of Northglenn; to work for us. Citizens need to be included. There is a lot to do. Change is easy in the first 100 days; it's the next 2 or 4 years that is tough.
We want the City Council to know that it shouldn't be afraid to try new and different things. I think this group can do that. We need to move forward in redevelopment. We need to deal with Northglenn's various water and sewer problems. When you are on the job too long, it builds familiarity and contempt. We always need to have fresh ideas and new perspectives. That is why we need the involvement of the citizens of Northglenn.
It is always going to be a learning experience. We have a lot of important decisions to make that will impact our future, so it is important for all of Northglenn to know what is going on.
With Respect to the process,
Dr. Sean Reif D.C.

The sacrifices you make will return great rewards. Never forget or underestimate the immense privilege and responsibility you will have as professionals . . . To each constituent and to your community. Strive to maintain the purity and passion you have today while gaining knowledge and wisdom.”
