As the final ballots were counted late in the evening on May 2, 2006, an overwhelming sense of community was felt by the North Metro Fire Rescue District employees.
Reaching out to the voters for any request of additional tax revenues is something that our Fire District will never take lightly. We realize the worth of our citizen's hard work, the economic challenges they face, and the immeasurable value of their support.
With the passage of Measure B and C, our Fire District will hold true to vision of the Strategic Plan and the six minute or less response time goals set by the Board of Directors. We will be prudent in our construction projects and diligent in our hiring and training of our new fire fighters.
The operations of the Fire District will continue at the professional and reliable levels that our citizens have come to expect and to which North Metro Fire Rescue is committed.
Each Northglenn citizen's "Yes" vote makes this possible. Voters also selected two new citizens for our Board of Directors, one from Broomfield and one from Northglenn in this election. These two individuals will join the three current Board Members in serving the entire community by overseeing the activities of the Fire District.
The future for emergency services in our community is solid and we thank you for coming out to vote, voicing your opinions, and giving us your support.
We appreciate your demonstration of faith in your emergency services and North Metro Fire Rescue District is proud to serve as your provider.
Sincerely,
John J. O'Hayre, Fire Chief
