For the "Common Good"

The notion of "COMMON GOOD" is the basic NEEDS required so that each person has access to the pursuit of happiness. While some hold that arrangements can benefit all people, others challenge the notion that common good exists, because the rules oppose the interests of someone in society.

This is why we maintain Robert's Rules of Order. They provide for common rules and procedures for deliberation and debate in order that the whole membership be on the same footing. This maintains the right of the majority to decide after a full and fair deliberation of the issues involved. Robert's Rules provide for constructive and democratic meetings.

This is Northglenn, Colorado, U.S.A. Public meetings from the Boy Scouts, Future Farmers of America, social fraternities, rugby unions, and Rotary International, and all free governments use this format. We are not assembled for "group therapy". We are at these public meetings to provide informed decisions in a democratic process.

I propose that we maintain this democratic tradition in all our Public meetings.
