Reply to: "Councilman Arrested for Domestic Violence", by Nancy Pfaff, 03/28/2008
It is apparent Ms Pfaff is trying to gain political points by running down the current members of the council. I understand she has an agenda, but smearing someone's name to achieve her political goals is despicable and speaks to how Ms Pfaff would represent this community--if she is ever afforded the chance to do so. Ms Pfaff states in her post: "
Mayor Novakand four other council members and concerned residents called for
James Miller [SIC] resignation, and he refused." What she fails to say is: Councilman Miller had every right to refuse. The Mayer and her supporters had no justification to request his resignation in a formal setting; the only way Councilman Miller would have been forced to leave would be through a recall.
Since Councilman Miller always displays more interest in doing what he was elected to do rather than climbing on board the Mayor's agenda, this was a politically correct way for the Mayor and her supporters to try and force Councilman Miller out of their hair. The fact that what he did was unacceptable to most of us did not go unnoticed at the time of the incident; however, Nancy Pfaff may want to remember that Councilman Miller's case is old news to this community and her post speaks volumes about her character--not his.
I personally spoke to Jim about this incident right after it took place, and I must conclude he doesn't deserve this duplicitous political attack. Before we judge someone, it is always a good idea to "remove the mote" from our own eye. After this unethical post by Nancy Pfaff, I will be keeping a close eye on what she has to say and do to rectify this injustice. The fact that Ms Pfaff throws in some statistics to pretend she is so concerned about the welfare of those who experience domestic violence is in itself a despicable misuse of those statistics to cover her heinous statements against Councilman Miller.
Frankly,
she owes Councilman Miller a retraction of her post and a public apology for her underhanded, politically motivated, attack. That would at least assure me she has the ability to realize the consequences of such outrageous posts and is willing to admit a mistake in judgment as Councilman Miller has done more than once concerning this issue.
Personally,
I don't believe I could ever cast a vote for someone who displays such low quality of character. I am certainly reluctant to ever have her represent me or my family in Northglenn or anywhere else.
