Seems a lingering bitterness

The lingering bitterness of last year's election campaign has spilled over into 2008, with municipal meetings turning into embarrassing public spectacles. Instead of setting an example of governing and working together toward solutions, politicians, current and former, are looking like actors in bizarre acts of political theater. Council needs to pay more attention to resident's needs and less to their overblown egos. Officials need to grow up, drop frivolous charges and tend to business.

There is more to being a legislator than offering bills. Bad bills must be defeated in committee. Ask insightful questions. Engage in debate, intelligent or otherwise, shapes legislative votes. If the final wording wasn’t provided. I publicly objected and insisted we see it first! Shallow smiles and feeble compromises won’t reform government. FIRM ACTION
