CBS4 and Taco Bell are "Kickin' It 4 Kids" To Raise Funds for The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver

KICKER JASON ELAM'S GAME WINNING FIELD GOAL = $900 FOR PROGRAM

CBS4, the official Denver Broncos television station, and Taco Bell have teamed up for the fourth year in a row to raise funds for Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver through "Kickin' it 4 Kids," a program that donates $300 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver for every field goal scored during the Denver Broncos regular season.

The first regular season Denver Broncos game was off to a great start with kicker Jason Elam kicking three field goals, in fact winning the game for the Broncos in the final seconds with a field goal, to generate the first $900 for the "Kickin it 4 Kids" program.

"Out of all the kicks I've had, I've never had a scenario like that," Broncos kicker Jason Elam said after kicking the game-winning field goal for a Denver 15-14 victory over Buffalo on Sunday.

Since the program began in the 2004 football season, Taco Bell has donated $24,000 to help the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver in its mission to help kids from high-risk neighborhoods make the most of their lives. This year, CBS4 and Taco Bell hope to raise as much as $10,000 through "Kickin it 4 Kids."

"CBS4 is proud to partner with Taco Bell to help young people in our community stay out of trouble, in school and succeed in life," Walt DeHaven, CBS4 General Manager, said. "Kickin it 4 Kids" was such a successful program last year. We're pleased to be able to continue raising money for the Boys & Girls Clubs so they can offer kids a place to do homework, be creative and participate in sports."

"During the past 10 years, Taco Bell has raised more than $15 million for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America," said Michelle Ruckman, Taco Bell Marketing Manager. "Our continued support of local Boys & Girls Clubs is very important to us, as is our 'Kickin' it 4 Kids' partnership with CBS4. We'll be rooting for the Broncos all season long to help raise the tally to help the young teens of Denver graduate from high school and go on to college."

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver has been helping young people make the most of their lives since 1961, when the first Club opened its doors to boys who needed a positive place to spend free time. Today, both boys and girls are served in youth facilities located throughout the Denver metro area.

"Our partnership with Taco Bell and CBS4 has helped thousands of kids in our community gain access to effective programs, safe facilities and guidance from positive, caring adults," said Amy Robinson, Vice President of Development for Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. "We are proud to partner with both organizations in providing brighter futures for young people in our community."
