COLORADO SPRINGS -- Northglenn's
Kylee Hanavan of Metropolitan State College of Denver repeats as the 2006 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the
Year. Hanavan led the Roadrunners to a 12-0-0 conference record and their fifth consecutive RMAC title.
Regis University's
Tara Kirkpatrick and
Kelly Labor garnered the 2006 RMAC
Defensive Player of the Year and the 2006 RMAC Freshman of the Year honors.
Danny Sanchez, who has led the Roadrunners to four straight NCAA playoff appearances, including the 2004 National Championship, has been named the 2006 RMAC Coach of the Year for the fi ft h straight season.
Lauren Sell, a junior midfielder from Mesa State, was the only player with unanimous votes for the 2006 All-RMAC First Team.
Head coaches from each of the nine women's soccer instituitions vote for the All-RMAC awards.
Six different teams were represented on the 2006 All-RMAC First Team. Along with Hanavan from Metro State were
Kira Sharp, Rachel Zollner, and
Nicole Cito.
Kirkpatrick and Labor represent Regis, while
Katrina Kranzler and
Kate Mahler
were from Fort Lewis. CSU-Pueblo's
Robin Hayes, Adams State's
Sara Lyles, and Mesa State's Sell rounded out the FirstTeam.
Metro State will host the 2006 RMAC Women's Soccer Tournament at Auraria Field. Games will be played October 26, October 27 and October 29.
