Gallas scores touchdown in All-Star game

GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines senior wide receiver Justin Gallas (Westminster, Colo./Northglenn) helped lead the West squad to a 49-28 victory over the East in the Sixth Annual Cactus Bowl Game Friday night at Javelina Stadium.

Gallas finished the game with 108 all-purpose yards as he caught three passes for 86 yards and a touchdown and returned two kicks for 22 yards.

His touchdown reception came with 42 seconds left in the first half and extended the West's lead to 33-7 at halftime. South Dakota's Wes Beschorner threw the touchdown to Gallas, which covered 49 yards.

Gallas finished the 2005 season with 91 catches for 1,199 yards and eight scores and also returned 41 kicks for a school-record 1,256 yards and a score. He was the RMAC Wide Reciever of the Year and Special Teams Player of the Year, as well as a First Team All-RMAC, All-Southwest Region and All-American selection.

Gallas led all of Division II in all-purpose yards (236.5 ypg) and receptions per game (8.3 rpg), was fourth in kickoff returns (30.9 ypr) and seventh in receiving yards per game (109.0 ypg). He finished his career at CSM with school records in receptions (266), receiving yards (3,562) and all-purpose yards (5,701).
