Northglenn seeks letter of support for skate park

The city of Northglenn is pursuing a $500,000 grant to build a new skate park and is asking residents who back the project to write letters of support.

An acre on the southeast side of E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park has been designated for the skate park. The park is located across from City Hall, 11701 Community Center Drive.

The Northglenn Youth Commission has organized a number of small fundraising efforts to go along with $100,000 that City Council designated for the skate park in early 2008.
However, the anticipated cost for the project is approximately $600,000.

To bridge the gap, the city will apply for an Adams County Open Space grant to cover the $500,000 difference. One of the most influential factors in the allocation of open space grant funds is letters of support from residents.

Send your letters of support to:

City of Northglenn
11701 Community Center Drive
Northglenn, CO 802233
Attn: Amanda Peterson

E-mails may also be sent to apeterson@northglenn.org, but please include a full name, address and phone number.

All letters must be submitted by July 29.

For more information, questions or comments about the skate park, please contact Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Director Amanda Peterson at 303-450-8950 or apeterson@northglenn.org.
