Blog Entry 134 of 194 Dial 'T' for Tabitha
I'm a bicycling poet who lived in Parker for several years and worked at YourHub.com, covering Parker and Franktown for two years.

I am studying poetry at CSU in the Master of Fine Arts program ...

I hope you can post a comment or two and that you will enjoy my blogs.

Who posts something online without wanting a response?

... Thanks for the read.

And you think the roads are bad ...

Gloves. Check.
Water bottle. Check.
Keys. Check ...

"I don't think it's safe, but whatever," one of my neighbors told me as I put on my helmet to head to work on two wheels yesterday.

A couple weeks earlier, my bike and I survived a trip to work, which took about 40 precarious peddling minutes.

Yesterday's trek took half the time. And it was a lot easier than the previous adventure, which was full of puddles disguised as ice, barriers of crusty snow and other obstacles awaiting disaster (like my waning patience).

The exercise yesterday was nice, but much of my route is still covered in snow -- hard-pack in the morning, slushy and deep on warm days. And even though I secretly appreciate whistles from construction workers at 11th Avenue and Grant Street (what were they whistling for? I was bundled up-- my nose and lips are all they could see of my face -- must be that gorgeous bicycle), I think I will keep my bike at home for awhile.

Whistles? Pffft. This one time, I had three cars blare their horns at me. But I was crossing traffic illegally, so they may not count.

You're hardcore. That's funny that the construction workers are still whistling at you.

I had a doppelganger once but the wheels fell off and I had to shoot it.
