Blue ribbon health commission on road to serfdom

The 208 health commission was supposed to find a creative way to reform health care in Colorado and deal with the uninsured.

In reality they are a front for Colorado state government, now led by the Democrats who are clueless as to how to deal with blossoming Medicaid costs and the election cycle pandering which promised health care, cradle to grave.

The Commission is staffed to the gills with "hang-around-the-fort" Indians and liberals and is chaired by an insurance agent. They became de-focused early on when they surrounded themselves with literally hundreds of special interest lobbyists from all over the state.

If they had been charged with architecting a skyscraper in downtown Denver they would have put the janitor on the design team.

Now, they have decided that none of the 4 proposals they solicited from wild-eyed reformers in the community will get the job done and they are crafting their own 5th proposal, which I call the "Jim Beam" Plan. It is sure to recommend mandated health insurance and a tax and subsidize as a way to pay for it.

Interestingly, the Commission began to back-peddle three days after Hillary Clinton unveiled her all new and improved health plan. Could it be that having the Democratic Convention in Denver is a driving force and causing the Commission to try and get congruent with her plan?

The thought that we could offer health insurance for every last man and child without addressing the root causes of health care hyper-inflation is sheer ludicrisy.

I think we want everyone to have access to care; we just want it to be affordable for everyone.

Each of us should have the wherewithall to provide for our own health care. Goverment should be encouraging us to provide for ourselves instead of mandating we give up our personal responsibility.
