Blog Entry 22 of 196 Dial 'T' for Tabitha
I'm a bicycling poet who lived in Parker for several years and worked at YourHub.com, covering Parker and Franktown for two years.

I am studying poetry at CSU in the Master of Fine Arts program ...

I hope you can post a comment or two and that you will enjoy my blogs.

Now that's a good birthday...

Mmm mmm. I just finished my mac and cheese birthday lunch and followed it with my last bite of dark chocolate from Valentine's Day.

What's that? A mac and cheese birthday lunch? That's all you get for the trouble of living 26 years?

.... Yes.... You see, I had my opportunities to go out to my favorite curry place, but I've been battling a sore throat which is currently in the cold-symptom stage.

I turned down invitations to do more than linger at my desk today. It's a matter of lacking the energy.

But that doesn't mean I don't have a change of scenery-- far from it.

You see, our community editor, Fairlight Baer, always gets each staff member a birthday plant. Mine is a cool little tropical that I hope will live to be a ripe old age (I do have an aloe vera that I estimate to be 10-14 years old, but everything else seems to die on me).

I have it now! I'll call it Dot! And Dot's sprouting a wee plant in her pot... what to name that?... Herrrmmm....

I think you should name it "H-Bomb."

The plant looks suspiciously like a 'mother-in-law's tongue' - hardly your traditional birthday present. Maybe you could paint it bright colors like red & yellow or attach some silk flowers to add cheer. Happy birthday Tabitha. The macaroni would look cool with a candle in it. . .
