Skiing? Cross that off the list!

Yes! I learned to ski this weekend, oh yes I did!

No lessons, just the patience of my boyfriend, who proved to be an excellent guide. I skiied a few hours and fell down four times.

Naturally, the first time my coat caught some serious snow was when I went off a ski lift for the first time with skis on. Alex, my boyfriend, and I planned for me to go to the right at the top of the lift.

Go to the right I certainly did! Almost right in to the little building right next to the lift!

But a few runs later, I was practicing my turns and control of my skis. And having a great time.

I did have to take it easy eventually, because my fourth and final fall reminded me that while I'm only 26, my knees aren't what they used to be!

I'm very pleased with the snow we just received. I hope it means I'll get to ski the slopes again before next season starts.

Check out the wonder of the POMA lift if you can find a place that does it. I learned on one of those in New Mexico and they rock.
