I've been a member of the online community longer than I have officially declared myself a poet. That's approximately eight years and three years, respectively.
Never have I posted one of my own poems online.
But when I shared a poem by
Elaine Christensen in
my last blog entry, blogger
Rob Guthrie moved that I post one of my own poems.
Reine Stuart seconded.
So, alright, I will share one, courtesy of the
Colorado Poets Association(To read more of my poems, visit
my page at the Colorado Poets Association Web site):
Just Touching
But it wasn't me.
it was the outer woman
that he had to examine--
"How long is your hair now?"--
knowing I would lean across the table
so that he could measure it with his hands.
"Let me see your rings."
And I suspended my arms above our empty plates,
spread my fingers until he felt the roots of each one.
