Blog Entry 242 of 264 Average Joe. Not.
I was born, therefore I blog. I have a sense of the ridiculous and need an outlet for that. I can be serious too and love to write little stories about little known but important people and events. And I love wildlife and travel and will always try to share those experiences. I make things up (its called fiction) and am amused when readers are duped into believing they are true.

Kids art program gets support from local business
Contributed by: Joe McDaniel   on 5/4/2008

Chris Sherman, coordinator for Parker Artists Guild of the popular Kidz Kulture program, says a big Thank You to Tagawa Gardens for helping to make Kids Kulture on Saturday April 19 th such a great celebration of Earth Day.

Kids Kulture is held at the Main Street Center in Parker on the third Saturday of every month, January through May and September through December from 10:00am - 11:30am. It is a joint venture by the Parker Artist's Guild, Parker Library, Target and The Cultural and Leisure programs for the town of Parker. At Kids Kulture, we celebrate diversity but learning about different cultures and holidays. There is a craft and an entertainment program and best of all it is always FREE.

For our celebration of Earth Day, Tagawa Gardens donated a gift certificate so that we could purchase some organic soil and lots of beautiful pansies to plant in our vases made from recycled tin cans, tissue paper and glue. Over eighty kids left with smiling faces, very proud of their accomplishment. Tagawa Gardens is a family owned and operated nursery that has served our area for over twenty six years. They offer a wide range of annuals, perennials, trees, scrubs, rosebushes, pond plants, fresh flowers, pottery and garden supplies. We are so grateful for their generosity.

Coupled with our awesome craft, Beth Epley led the kids is some singing, stories and dramatic play. Beth has a degree in theater and elementary education and her comedy and contagious enthusiasm was enjoyed by kids and adults alike. The audience learned a whole lot about the importance of bees and what we can do to attract bees and keep them safe. Dancing, singing, acting and a whole lot of laughing could be heard through the entire performance.

Please join us on Saturday, May 17th at 10:00 a.m. to learn about and celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Please see the links below if you would like more information on The Parker Artists Guild, Parker Cultural and Leisure programs, Tagawa Gardens or Beth Epley.
