Blog Entry 33 of 39 Entrepreneur Vs. Mommyworld
Who Am I? Well, why have I erased what I started five times already? I guess because I am still searching for who I am. Yes, I am a mother of three wonderful, beautiful, loving, never have gotten in trouble in their lives kind of boys. (At least not within the last few minutes...right, they are at school.) Who else am I? I am also a NEW ENTREPRENEUR. Within the last year, I have started three new business. Yippee! Each business is very different and separate from the other, but they are all interesting in their own right. Let's look at the facts and see where I fit the best. To start this blog, I had to cut myself out from the middle of the three little toe heads. Just this morning, I made an appointment to have my taxes done (payment = a kidney). When dropping the boys off at school, I got cut off by a rude driver and I flipped him off in the school line (personal note, never do that, his child is probably in your child's class), I made a wholesale order for business goods without having to ask for help (o.k. only three calls, but who's counting??), I washed a load of jeans and only one chapstick was found in the dryer this time (who in the world knows how to get out that stain?), successfully found some business receipts and only one had a picture of Yoda on the back, and most importantly remembered to say this morning, "I love my life!" I mean, being who I am is just great....now to go figure out who that is....

The Parade of Homes and Farmers
Contributed by: Sara Crowe   on 7/23/2008

This year the Parade of Homes at Solterra is providing something exciting. Three Tomatoes, the catering company that is onsite, is instituting a new recycling program. There are three different steps...all that are easy to follow and will have a positive impact on the environment.

1. Landfill - all trash cans that hold "just trash" will be labeled as landfill. The hope is, that as a society, the word "landfill" makes people think before throwing something away.

2. Recycle - there will be many places on site where attendees will be able to put their plastic bottles. When full, these items will be placed in a separate dumpster for recycling.

**ALERT** Really exciting part....

3. Composte - ALL of the plates, straws, cups, napkins, and utensils that Three Tomatoes is using is completely compostable. When a trash can is full, the composte will go to its own trash dumpster. In ninety days all of that composte becomes dirt that the farmers in Colorado use.

Who would have thought that an event that has close to 100,000 visitors in five weeks would also be helping the farmers in Colorado?

Interesting and eco-friendly? I sure think so....

Those are great ideas. I appreciate the effort to keep reminding people that our actions have an impact on the invironment and it's great when we can find ways to naturally help out. Compostable paper products? Awesome.
