The curtain rises after the opening number and anticipation fills the air.
An Indian marketplace fills the audiences eyes and young girls gawk at the elaborate sellers and buyers. The Ponderosa High School's dressing rooms are filled with nervous dancers.
It is Parker Dance's annual show and this years theme is Alladin and the magic lamp.
The show will be performing June 14 through the 18. Not only with there be great dancing, but great acting as well.
Many hours a week are dedicated to dance by all the Parker Dance dancers to make the last recital of the year incredibly entertaining. The age groups vary from young elementary schoolers through 12th graders.
Our many styles of dance that the show will encompass are ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical and hip hop.I am so excited to finally show case what i love to do in every style of dance!
Next, the acting will be superior. The lead role of Aladdin will be played by two girls, both who have theatre backgrounds and who have had other main roles as well.
Other characters will include the mischievous Jafar, Princess Jasmine, the funny genie and curious Abu. Other parts include the guards and market place people. The acting will make the storyline come to life with a comical touch.
The show should be very entertaining with an array of beautiful and sharp dance styles. The costuming will also be awesome,as well as the sets. It should truly be magical!

Sweet. This sounds like so much fun. I love the story of Aladdin. And I really am excited for you, Ariana-- it's so inspiring to see people getting to do what they really love. And your blog's inspired me to be sure I get pictures from my cousin's dance recital this weekend-- he's off to L.A. in a few months, pursuing a dance contract with a company out there. Good luck to you, Ariana! Break a leg!
