Blog Entry 218 of 266 Average Joe. Not.
I was born, therefore I blog. I have a sense of the ridiculous and need an outlet for that. I can be serious too and love to write little stories about little known but important people and events. And I love wildlife and travel and will always try to share those experiences. I make things up (its called fiction) and am amused when readers are duped into believing they are true.

Broken promise
Contributed by: Joe McDaniel   on 12/6/2007

Photographers love sunrises, sunsets, flowers, babies, pets and - hard to believe - taking pictures of their own feet. Go figure.

I have seen lots of sunsets over the last six decades and have photographed quite a few of the more colorful ones. I even promised myself a few years ago that I would not take any more sunset photos. There are literally millions of sunset pictures stored away in old boxes in attics and basements.

Many are black and white images taken with Eastman Kodak Brownie cameras dating back as far as 1888. Anyone remember Brownie cameras from the 1950's or the Kodak Instamatics from the 1960's?

But now I am a pixel person. I can look out the window to check the weather, grab the camera and tripod, and step outside to get multiple photographs as the sun goes down, discarding the few dozen that are not good enough and uploading the rest to the computer.

How can I keep my promise when it is so easy ? Colorado sunsets are so often irresistable. This photo was taken on Tuesday December 4th from Hess Road in Parker.

I promise; no more sunsets. No more feet either.
