Blog Entry 3 of 5 Diving Into the Truth
Hey Everyone! Welcome to Diving Into the Truth! This blog is for the sole purpose of glorifying Christ! How awesome is that, huh?! I was inspired to give the blog it's name by a song sung by Steven Curtis Chapman called "Dive". Of course I like the whole song, but I really like the chorus: I'm diving in, I'm going deep in over my head, I want to be Caught in the rush, lost in the flow, in over my head, I want to go The river's deep, the river's wide, the river's water is alive So sink or swim, I'm diving in. And that's what this blog is all about--diving into the ocean of God's love, truth, and holiness. So come and join me, and together, we'll dive right on in!

Back to school

I love the beginning of a new school year: the smell of new books, the bright, colorful crayons, pencils, and notebooks, and the excitement of learning new things.

But as a homeschooler, school isn't just sitting at the table doing our schoolwork...it's also my brothers helping my dad with some plumbing, electrical, or car problem or us girls figuring out what to have for dinner, learning how to sew, keep house, and take care of children.

And it's also all of us learning things like character building, responsibility, and most importantly learning more about God, to love Him, and searching for His purpose in our lives.

To paraphrase what Theodore Roosevelt once said, "It is better to have a thorough knowledge of the Bible than a college education." Our whole lifetime is "school," not just the years we spend actually going to school or, if you're a homeschooler, learning at home. Think of it this way: life as the classroom and God as the teacher.

Also, school isn't the most important thing in life. Yes, knowing basic math, reading, writing, spelling, are essentials, and furthering your education can be very beneficial, but even the most educated person in the world may not be satisfied with life and/or may even miss the meaningful and enjoyable moments in life while acquiring their "education."

So as a student I pray that everything I learn will be used to glorify Christ and further His kingdom whether it be in"school"or the classroom of life.

P.S. I'm in my last year of high school, and I do intend on going to college and eventually becoming a naturopathic doctor, having my own clinic and going into street ministering. :)
