Well I personally know the kid you speak so insanely of and I can see the reason why you think it is and idiotic idea. Which I agree but he wasn't trying to hurt anyone first of all and he didn't plan on the school and state to have the reaction that it did. He is a kind kid that was just trying to have fun. The problem with these sub-urban towns it that the parents of all the children think that all of their kids are angels and they don't face the reality that the kids are more than likely not even close to the judgment their parents have of them.
I was at school on that day and I heard all of the rumors, while I watched as my friend was taken off of school property. I knew instant that I saw him that it was an over reaction on the school and the state's part. I know more about the story but I am not legally aloud to release that information currently. So I agree that it was a very bad choice by the student you speak of but I also think that it was thrown WAY out of hand! The school didn't know how to act and they were illy prepared for such a situation, I know I experienced it first hand.
Columbine is a part of the past and people need to realize that it could happen but not in one area of the country it can happen anywhere like Virginia Tech. The reason I say that is while everyone is over acting about this little incident a psycho could be ready to do something a little more serious than a "firecracker" so we need to realize that no one was intended to get hurt but we need to be prepared for such instances with a little more planned reaction than canceling school for a "firecracker" (Chris Pohl from Ponderosa High School)

Chris, you seem to have misunderstood me. I actually agree with you; there was quite a bit of overreaction. That said, he made a bad choice. I think that's undeniable. And your judgment seems fairly clouded as well.
