The people aren't understanding what I'm saying! What I was trying to get across is that the people overall reacted too much. You also misunderstood what I was trying to say. It isn't that I agree with what my friend did it is that the attention given to such a small unimportant thing is just rediculous. The school was so worried about an insident that could be resembled as a "firecracker" its not made to harm others and it isn't meant for the use of scaring others it is for amusement on a certain day the 4th of July. There were also much worse things going on at Ponderosa High School that day then the blown up chemicals. I know for a fact that there were kids at my school smoking marijuana. I personally think that is more significant then a simple UNHARMFUL explosion in a, at the time, none occupied area. Again I still consider the smoking and explosion little things use the Virginia Tech incedent people were unaware of what was going on because they were ill advised. The purpose of my Blog on this site is to try and let the community know that my friend never intended to harm anyone and he didn't do it to resemble Colombine (a Shooting). I don't agree with his choice to do what he did but I don't agree with in which the way the society Responded. As for your comments Mrs. Marsh I know more about what happened then you could ever imagine so I don't think that you have a place to criticize me and my thinking. I would just like to let the people know more about the facts even though they have already made their judgments. The school around the nation are not prepared well enough to keep all the children safe. They reacted with too much of a SCARE to actually mean anything they also aren't prepared well enough to crack down on the illegal substances in my school let alone others around the country. Please if you have read this leave me feed-back in the comments section at the bottom of the page. (Chris Pohl a Ponderosa High School Student)

Well there would never be a "just Right" reaction in my opinion but the point is that if the school wouldn't have been canceled some would and wouldn't be satified no matter what. But it is very important to me that people realize that it wasn't nearly as bad as it was portrayed. The reactions could vary from most over-reaction (how they actually reacted, or you could do the under-reaction of not doing anything.

Your friend did a stupid thing. Everyone does stupiod things now and again. The school and the media over-reacted, certainly. I would be interested to know what sort of reaction you think would be appropriate. ? What would be too little, too much or - like the baby bear's bed to Goldilocks - what would be "just right."
