On Friday, My cousins, sister and I all headed off for the long drive to Grand Island Nebraska for our family reunion. However, we were not completely nbummed about the drive seeing as we had a high class cadillac. It was originally my grandparents but since they had to move to Iowa with my aunt and unvle for a nursing hiome, the granddaughters pretty much had free rein of the car.
On the way, my cousins Alexa and Maddy shared the driving time with my sister. I was too young. it took a total of 7 hours to reach Nebraska, but with a few fun sights on the way. For one, There was a museum that went over the road right inside of the nebraska border. We didnt go in but it was huge and colorful from the outside. Next, we stopped at a sinclair gas station to stretch when we saw their giant mascot, a dinosaur. We just had to take a picture with it so as we posed by the paper mache mass, we had some stranger take our picture. While in Nebraska, we passes this truly horribly smelling cow far. It was disgusting! At about 9pm, we finally arrived at our super 8.
Our hotel wasnt too bad either. Allthough The lobby and pool are did smell like cigrette smoke and the designs wree a little dated, its layout was pretty original. The pool was indorr and layed in the very center of the hotel. It took two stories while around it were hotel rooms that went all the way up to the ceiling so it was kind of like a courtyard design.
The fmily reunion was actually in central city but all of the hotel rooms were filled up there and Grand Island is supposed to be a short drive away.(we ere having trouble getting there). The rnuion was called M&M because the last names of the families were Marsh and Mesner. I met many interesting people who were excited some of the colorado people could make it out. I met my Grandpas brother,Don, Prche, who was 101 years old, My grandpas brothers wife, Roberta, David, Neil, and many other fun family members. Our dads couldnt go because their bands had gigs and our grandparents and aunt and uncle werent in any shape to either. While there, I met some of the younger relatives Dane and Jessica. We played a card game called Egiptian Rat Killer which involved slapping the cards so it turned out to be quite violent! After dinner at the renuion they were going to show a slideshow of nature pictures so we decided to go to Danes Grandmas house to contniue playing cards. Later on, Danes sister Hannah came home from Dc and we all went out to subway before danes play, Grease.
The play was oudorrs in the yard of a church and consisted of a=only about 20actors and actresses. It was very good and i enjoyed it alot. Light bugs were out and the warm nebraska night was a contrast from colorado nights.
The next day, we decided to go miniature golfing with dance, hannah,Jessica, and Jessicas brother Brandon. We got to the golf place a little too early so we went out to a mongolian grill where you chose your own foos from a bugffet and they grillit right infront of you. it was really yummy! Golf was also a ton of fun. Right off the bat, Alexa was bouncing her ball and it landed on the roof, never to be seen again so she had to get a new one. The golf caourse was so creative and fun that it probably the bestr one i have ever been to.
It came time for us to leave and after cheery goodbyes, we set off for home. We safelygot to colorado and had a spaghetti dinner. Then, Maddiwe and Alexa left our home and we watched some tv and went to bed.
Overall, the family reunion was really fun and im excited to go again next year!

you think driving to Nebraska is long? Ha, ha. Anyways, Sounds like fun, and you thought it was going to be boring! Personally I hate Nebraska weather, I can't believe you like it! See you in 6 days!!!

Great job! Family reunions are pretty cool, even in Nebraska! We've passed by/under that museum over the interstate (though we have never stopped either).
