Turkey Day!
Contributed by: Ariana Marsh   on 11/15/2006

Thanksgiving is such and awesome holiday. You get to eat delicious food, see your family, and do a lot of fun things.

My favorite Thanksgiving food is definately my grandmas potatoes. They are cheesy, and have a crunchy top. I also love turkey stuffed with veggies and the mashed potatos are also great. For dessert, pumpkin pie with a mountain of whipped cream is ALWAYS the best part. mm.

Next, my grandparents used to live here and we would always have Thanksgiving with them. My grandma loves to see her family. She also is one of the greatest cooks in the world and nothing beats spending time with her and my grandpa. She has 4 grandchildren: my sister, me, alexa, and maddy.

Alexa and Maddy are sisters and both go to CU boulder. Grandpa Bob is the comedian of the family. He playes banjo and harmonica and never stops cracking jokes. He is awesome.

My Grandparents recently moved to Iowa, near my aunt and uncle, but this year all four of them are coming out together which is so fun! I can't wait to see them. My aunt diane and uncle Al will be coming out with me grandparents.

My Aunt is so funny and spunky and she is one of the greatest people to be around. She is a school music teacher and her passion is the piano.Uncle Al knows just about everything you would ever need to know and is also a really cool person. I'm excited to see them.

Also, my two cousins and their parents (rich and Kay)are coming out as well from boulder and longmont to eat thanksgiving dinner at my dad's place! My Aunt Kay is a minister and my Uncle loves to play his keyboard. they are both awesome and caring.

My cousins Alexa and Maddy are very outdoorsy. Alexa loves her kittyPrincess andMaddy loves anything like hiking. They are really neat and fun andits always a blast when they come out. My dad, Tom, who also loves playing his keyboard, will also be there with his funny and awesome girlfriend Denise, as well as my sister, Natalie, who is really into rock-climbing.

I love spending as much time withall of these people as possible because nothing beats family.

Last, Thanksgiving Day is always filled with fun. We usually play a game of croquet or some fun board-game that the family likes. My cousins usally always wincroquet but its still great to play. Naturally, the big football game is on TV as well.
Overall, Thanksgiving is a time for fun, family, and food.

"... nothing beats family." I hear ya! So fun to see pictures of your family playing croquet. We used to do that all the time in my grandparents' back yard in the summers, especially on Father's Day, when I was growing up in Grand Junction. Fun. Happy Thanksgiving.
