here
for more information.
Tonight I have one of my six weekly dance classes.
Jazz, which is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, is my personal favorite. I also take Pointe, tap,and hip hop at Parker Dance.I love dance and wouldn't want to do any other sports with any other teachers or coaches.
Lisa
is my Monday night jazz teacher and she is amazing. She is 40-some years old and still better than half of the girls in my class. When she was younger, she toured with a world renown artist named
Tremaine.
Considering she started dance in high school, I would say that is pretty incredible.
Tomorrow night I have ballet with studio owner,
Kim Kinnear
. She also has a dance background worth bragging rights. After attending many casting calls when she was younger, she finally hit home. She was sent to Japan to dance in clubs and says she was practically worshipped there because of her ethnicity and dance ability. Now, she has two daughters and a prospering dance studio.
As a teacher, she is good as well.I haven't had her for jazzmuch but her combinationsseemto bechallenging and fun. At a recent dance competition, Dance Educators of America, she received a perfect score on a dance teachers test. Pretty Good!
For the past six Wednesday Nights, I have had an amazing modern teacher names
Melissa
. She is a guest teacher for only one more week and I will be sad to see her go. Her style is truly different to me. She studied under the style of
Martha Graham
who is practically the mother of modern dance. It is a contemporary mix of emotion, ballet and a little jazz. Her class has been great for me.
Thursday nights are crazy. I get to the studio and have tap from 4 to 5 with an INCREDIBLE tap teacher named
Beverly Pinkerton
. She has been tapping since she could walk and is one of the best tappers i have ever seen. Her choreography has won tons of awards at competitions and she is also really sweet and knowledgeable. I am SOOOOO lucky to have her as my tap teacher, you have no idea!
After tap, I wait around for two hours, then have another ballet class at 7 p.m. For the past few weeks however, we have been preparing our modern dance for our annual showcase. It is at the Lakewood Cultural Center on April 30th at 3 o'clock (you all should come). :)
Rebecca
is my thursday night ballet teacher and she is also great. She doesn't base your abilities off of the perfect dancer, she knows what is your best and bases how well you do in class off of that. It makes me feel more comfortable and want to work harder. I have never liked ballet so much!
On Saturdays I have hip-hop with
Nick.
Sadly, I just found out two days ago he will be pursuing different dreams of his as a firefighter. It is so sad to see him go because he was the first hip hop teacher i ever had and has taught me everything i know about it.
When he first came, he had an inexperienced class of balletic and technical girls. Now, we all can actually do hip hop, thanks to him. Nick ,we will miss you! Also on Saturdays I usually have rehearsals for either competitions or upcoming dance productions.
Overall, my dance life is very busy and crazy. However, I wouldn't have it any other way and love my studio and its teachers. They all rock! I am at my studio so much that it seems like a second home, and my teachers seem like my second parents. :)

Wow, Ariana. You are very dedicated to dance-- keep it up! I have a cousin who graduates from high school next month. He'll be moving to L.A. because of his dedication to dance. I've gone to some of his recitals, and I've loved every one! Thanks for sharing your dance pictures. They're cool. Maybe your instructors will let you post their pictures? Keep us updated on everything dance!
