Blog Entry 34 of 48 Entrepreneur Vs. Mommyworld
Who Am I? Well, why have I erased what I started five times already? I guess because I am still searching for who I am. Yes, I am a mother of three wonderful, beautiful, loving, never have gotten in trouble in their lives kind of boys. (At least not within the last few minutes...right, they are at school.) Who else am I? I am also a NEW ENTREPRENEUR. Within the last year, I have started three new business. Yippee! Each business is very different and separate from the other, but they are all interesting in their own right. Let's look at the facts and see where I fit the best. To start this blog, I had to cut myself out from the middle of the three little toe heads. Just this morning, I made an appointment to have my taxes done (payment = a kidney). When dropping the boys off at school, I got cut off by a rude driver and I flipped him off in the school line (personal note, never do that, his child is probably in your child's class), I made a wholesale order for business goods without having to ask for help (o.k. only three calls, but who's counting??), I washed a load of jeans and only one chapstick was found in the dryer this time (who in the world knows how to get out that stain?), successfully found some business receipts and only one had a picture of Yoda on the back, and most importantly remembered to say this morning, "I love my life!" I mean, being who I am is just great....now to go figure out who that is....

Envious of the life
Contributed by: Sara Crowe   on 8/3/2008

My dad and step mom just got back from a trip to Scotland and Ireland.Right before their travels, I was talking to a friend about her trip to Europe. She was talking to me about how American tourists are known by their footwear. Wearing tennis shoes is a sure way to give away our "tourist status."

Unfortunately, I have never had any traveling trips toEurope, so this first conversation intrigued me. As I sat talking to my family about their trip our conversation started with footwear. From there it progressed to so many different things. Obviously it was about the travels that had just been had, but then the conversation turned to one that I raptly listened to.

The bathroom situation is apparently much different there....so clean, so nice, so environmentally friendly. The U.S. is behind the times by leaps and bounds European standards. All public restrooms have hand dryers that you put your hands in....and they dry very quickly! A time saver and good for the planet. In addition, after sitting on the "loo" the seat cover will magically have a clean clear coating...ready for the next sitter.

Europeans know more about what is going on with our presidential election than we do.There is one candidate that generally all believe would be much better for the economy, way of life, and for diplomatic relations and is expressed through numerous conversations.

Food is delicious. All items are fresh - without being frozen and having the preservatives.

Television is not banned, but there is not much on, so entertainment takes a different feel. One of the favorite things my dad saw were two boys about age 10 who went into the pub. They played the banjo and guitar and knew all of the Irish songs. They just looked liked they had been doing it forever. They lived in a small town and the townspeople had as much a hand in raising these boys as the parents did.

In addition most Europeans know more than one language, as this is imperative in communicating with bordering countries and neighbors.

I am proud to live in America and I love the place I call home, but occasionally I wonder, hope, and long for things that I have never known.

They have the French. I'll take our bathrooms. I do agree that we have isolated ourselves from a lot of what "civilisation" would seemingly entail, though. Good blog.

I have been to several of the coutries, but it was quite a while ago. Everything was so beautiful there! I especially loved the Swiss Alps!

I'm glad they had that kind of experience. This is what we travel for. It doesn't always turn out like that but I hafta say, one brings oneself into the picture.

Isn't funny how some things just sound so perfect in conversation and in reality it just might not be so....kinda like my first "true love"...

I was in Italy in Sept 2007. The bathrooms were not so perfect. In fact many of the toilet seats were missing from being stolen. Gypsy's were all over trying to steal anything. The banks had guards wearing full body armor. These are just a few examples.Europe is not the perfect world.
