Here we go again! Merlin Klotz just published more "false and misleading" information about Parker Water and Sanitation District.
Mr. Klotz's claim that the Board holds "private controlled elections" is a complete fabrication.Water and sanitation districts, fire districts, library districts and school districts are all subject to election dates as prescribed by the General Assembly (CRS 32-1-805(1), not by the PWSD Board.Boards for 47 years have held elections consistent with that authorizing legislation. This election process is no different than every other water district in Douglas County.Incidentally, the same legislation prevails for districts throughout the State of Colorado, and can hardly be considered a "private" election.
Disregard for accuracy is not uncommon for Mr. Klotz. When the Douglas County Clerk reviewed Mr. Klotz's recall petitions, he declared it was full of "substantially false and misleading information" (
Parker Chronicle, April24, 2009).Klotz is clearly trying to distance himself and the recall committee from the $50,000 cost for this election.Simply put, the recall is an unnecessary additional expense to District ratepayers when consideration is given to the regularly scheduled election in May.
His unsubstantiated claim of bussing of voters from an "old folk's home" is a tasteless comment that should be proven or withdrawn with apologies to the Parker elderly who consider voting a privilege not to be taken lightly.
Klotz's false statements offer more evidence this recall election is led by a person who wants to play politics with our water. This recall election will cost Parker Water residents $50,000.Vote "NO" on the recall and the waste of money.
